One of the hardest part on starting an essay is knowing where to start. What's even harder is when that essay is part of an exam that you need to pass.

This is a guide on the Enumerative essay for the IELTS writing test. I have discussed the type of essays and have showed that basic difference on each one in one of my hubs. To view that particular hub click here.

So now you have identified that the Essay is an Enumerative Essay. The question now is how am I going to write this essay? Don't fret, I have a simple guide. I got this from my review for IELTS.

To effectively write an Enumerative essay you should first divide it into four parts. The first paragraph should contain the introduction. The second part will be the discussion of the 1st task. On the third paragraph the 2nd task is discussed here. And on the 4th paragraph you should have a conclusion. These key parts will be discussed further so read on.

1st part: Introduction - Paraphrase the Essay Question or restate the tasks.

2nd part: 1st task discussion - You write the main topic of the 1st task first, then write 2 ideas of the main topic and explain each.

3rd part: 2nd task discussion - You write the main topic of the 2nd task first, then write 2 ideas of the main topic and explain each.

4th part: Conclusion - Paraphrase the first part or you could discuss the viability of the solutions or discuss the challenges present.

This is a structured approach on the IELTS writing test so that you could effectively write and communicate your views about that topic. Hope this helps you.
